When you host a web application on our avant-garde cloud hosting platform and you’d like to try Node.js, you will be able to add it to your hosting account regardless of the website hosting package that you are using. This can be done from the Upgrades menu in the Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to use Node.js in no more than a couple of minutes after you add this service to the account. You will be able to select the number of instances that you wish to add to your account – one instance means that one application will be using Node.js. In the new section that will appear in the Control Panel, you can write the path to the .js file in your hosting account and choose whether that file will be reachable via the shared IP of the physical server or through a dedicated one. Our platform will also select a port number for the connection. You’ll be able to shut down or to restart each instance separately, if it’s needed.
Node.js in Semi-dedicated Hosting
With a semi-dedicated server from us, you can use all the benefits that the Node.js event-driven platform is offering, as it is comes with all our semi-dedicated server plans and you are able to add it to your account with a few mouse clicks from the Hepsia website hosting Control Panel – the semi-dedicated account administration tool that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server. If you would like to employ Node.js for multiple web apps, you can choose the number of instances that the platform will use when you are adding this feature to your semi-dedicated plan. Then, you will have to specify the location of the .js file in your semi-dedicated account for each instance. This can be done in the new section that will appear in the Hepsia Control Panel after you add the upgrade and during the process, you can also select if the access path to the given application should go through a dedicated IP address – if you have one, or through the server’s shared IP. Each and every instance that you run can be restarted or removed separately and you can view your applications’ output with only a couple of clicks of the mouse.

The configuration is done through the Hepsia Control Panel’s easy-to-navigate, point ‘n’ click interface, so even if you’re not technically experienced, you won’t need to cope with any difficulties while working with the Node.js platform. You will simply need to add the directory path in the VPS account to the .js file that will use Node.js and to choose whether it will use a shared or a dedicated IP address. In addition, our system will also assign a port to access this file and you will be able to find it in the corresponding section in the Control Panel. With only one click, you will be able to check your apps’ output and to cancel or to reboot any instance hosted on the server.

You will be able to use the Node.js platform with your real-time, script-based web applications at no additional cost in case you obtain one of our Linux dedicated servers hosting packages and choose the Hepsia Control Panel on the order page. The Node.js instances can be managed from the Node.js section of the Hepsia CP through an easy-to-work-with interface, which will allow you to start/stop/restart any Node.js instance or to view the output of the app that uses it with only one click. Even if you are not very tech-savvy, you’ll be able to use the platform, since all you need to do to activate it is specify the path to the .js file and select the IP that will be used to access the file in question – a shared or a dedicated one.
